BEIJING, Jan. 11 (Xinhuanet) -- China's first website to evaluate people's health condition online was launched here Wednesday.

The website, www.baoxie.com.cn, is being jointly sponsored by an international foundation and local health food manufacturers based in south China's Guangdong Province.

The website will have personal health records for every single user, health status evaluations, disease prevention, doctor advice and tracing services.

Liu Ying, CEO of the website, said more and more Chinese people nowadays have come to realize that annual medical examinations are insufficient, since they only tell whether a person has a disease instead of advocating good health. The webiste will attempt to solve this problem by giving specific and detailed advice about diet, lifestyle and traditional Chinese approaches to health.

Liu added that accompanying the website, chain store-like health consultation stations will be set up in local communities nationwide. Memberships will be 200 yuan (around 25 US dollars) for annual service.

According to Liu, one can save three to six yuan (0.375 to 0.75US dollars) in medical expenditure by investing only one yuan (0.125 US dollar) in preventive care. Enditem
