TOKYO, Oct. 3 (Xinhuanet) -- The Japanese government said Monday that it has confirmed the first West Nile fever case in the country, but dismissed the danger of an outbreak here.
The Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry said a Japanese man in his 30s contracted the disease during his stay in the United States.
The man is receiving treatment and not in a serious condition, the ministry said.
In addition, the government dismissed the possibility of an outbreak of the West Nile fever in Japan, arguing that the man was infected through bite of mosquito in the United States and the killing disease does not spread among the human being. Enditem
